  Yes, the Mitcham ground has long since been housing. As you were 3 at the time you probably don’t remember but the 69 Wembley stadium and Pool combined was I think a tortuous 8 day stint or was that an early 70’s Twickenham event? I’ve forgotten so much so the de-programming is working fine.

  There were also a few D/A held at Wimbledon Football Ground in the 70’s.

  You list your age as 38. Is that subterfuge as 3 in ’69 doesn’t quite add up?

  While we’re reminiscing who remembers the 2 conventions held at the REAL Crystal Palace (the football ground that is) one in the 70’s and one in the 60’s?

  Then there were the circuit assemblies at the Dorking Assembly Halls opposite the later converted cinema assembly hall.

  And also at Wimbledon Baths and Kingston Coronation Baths in the 60’s and later Wimbledon Town Hall.

  My first assembly was Mitcham Football Ground in I think 1955 at which I spent 1 week pre assembly cleaning the stands and gullies.

  My favourites were the days spent at Twickers when all areas outside the stands were covered in cinders. At the end of the day everyone’s feet were black. Pre assembly work used to start about 8 to 12 weeks before the Assembly and go on for up to 2 weeks after. Perhaps I remember it fondly because.... no, there is no reason to remember it fondly. It was a complete and utter waste of time

  i'm amazed at how many on this forum, believe the gb really believes their own lie, that they are god's "official channel".

  are there many of you that believe as i do.

  i believe somewhere deep down they know they are just fooling people.

  I agree 100% with garybuss. We, formerly R & F members, as has been said before are treated like mushrooms i.e. kept in the dark and fed manure.

  Whereas those at the top have a good reason to keep us in the dark. Maintaining their powerbase depends on it. If the average dub knew just a fraction of what goes on higher up most I’m sure would leave.

  I don’t see Raymond Franz admitting that they all knew it was a fraud as this would clearly reflect on him and the time that he spent as an integral and leading part of this great deception.

  I see no point in looking to him for clues.

  Raymond Franz, for all his subsequent good work at attempting to make amends for his part in this great deception, it seems is still reluctant to bear his share of the responsibility and hence as far as I know has never apologised publicly for his gross error in perpetuating the Watchtower

  SCAM, TRICK, LIE, and the BLASPHEMOUS INSULT that it is, as a previous poster once amply demonstrated.

  do they have to pay to get these results?

  if they are paying then is this not another example of hypocrisy after telling the "sheep" not to use the internet but then spending the "sheeps" donations on maintaining an internet presence?.

  What other web sites would want to carry links to the WTS and why? Is the WTS paying them to carry such links?

  Does anyone know if in the early days to get to the top of Google the WTS payed them for a sponsored link?
